Born in Chile and educated at the Universidad de Chile, Jorge relocated to the United Kingdom in 1991. In 2005, he co‑founded KKE Architects, where he continues to serve as one of the practice’s two Directors.

Jorge leads the practice’s sustainable design agenda, championing environmentally responsible methodologies and technologies. He also leads on Almshouses an private apartment communities which include third age and supported living. A notable demonstration of the practice’s advancement in this field. Recognition received at the National Passivhaus Trust Awards for the St John’s Almshouses project in Lichfield, which subsequently won the Architect’s Journal Housing Project of the Year (under £10 million) and a regional RIBA Awards 2025.

As Director, Jorge assumes a hands‑on role in overseeing half of the practice’s active portfolio. He has also been instrumental in shaping KKE’s pioneering approach to hospice design, driving forward innovative solutions that challenge conventional models of care environments. This work has earned widespread acclaim, resulting in numerous honours including Regional and National RIBA Awards, Architects’ Journal Awards, and the Eisteddfod Gold Medal for Architecture.

Jorge has contributed extensively to national and international research and academic discourse on elderly, supported, and retirement living, including submissions to Housing LIN. Most recently, in January 2020, he joined Lord Richard Best in Chile to speak at a conference highlighting the United Kingdom’s experience in residential solutions for an ageing population.

Joseph joined KKE Architects in 2008 following the completion of his undergraduate degree at the University of Nottingham. In 2011, he returned to education at Birmingham City University, where he successfully completed his Master’s in Architecture. He rejoined KKE in July 2013 and completed RIBA qualification in 2015.

Throughout his career, Joseph has specialised in the refurbishment and re‑use of existing buildings, alongside a strong commitment to environmentally responsible design and development—principles that are central to his architectural philosophy. His early hands‑on experience renovating a former farm labourer’s cottage ignited his passion for construction, sustainability, and the creative potential of adapting historic buildings for modern living. Joseph also possesses significant expertise around planning law, particularly permitted development rights and land for housing development.

More recently, Joseph has focused his attention on bespoke contemporary residential projects, including The Old Garden House—an innovative and recently completed private residence designed to support and enrich multigenerational living. Alongside this work, he has established Rio Severn Limited, a complementary sister company specialising in the promotion of land for small-scale housing developments.

Kyle is a Graduate Architectural Technologist from the University of Wolverhampton and an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists.

He first joined KKE Architects in 2007 during his year in industry and, after completing his final year at university, returned to the practice in May 2009. With more than 17 years of professional experience, Kyle has worked across a wide range of project sectors, with a particular specialism in healthcare and hospice design.

His notable contributions include the award‑winning St David’s Hospice project, recipient of an RIBA National Award in 2018, and the New Thames Hospice, which received both Architects’ Journal and RIBA Regional Awards. These projects set new benchmarks in palliative and cancer care design, delivering centres of excellence within calm, sensitively landscaped environments. Kyle is currently working on the soon‑to‑be‑completed new In‑Patient Unit and Day Hospice for Overgate Hospice in Elland.

Kyle possesses extensive experience in project delivery and excels in collaborating with multidisciplinary consultant teams and site‑based teams to ensure projects are executed to the highest standards. He and fellow Associate Andrew Jennings form the technical backbone of KKE Architects, supporting the delivery of award‑winning buildings that meet the demanding technical and regulatory requirements of modern construction—particularly within contemporary healthcare environments.

With over 20 years of experience in architectural practice, Andrew joined KKE Architects in 2013 as a Senior Architectural Technician. He brings extensive expertise in the technical aspects of building design and construction, ensuring potential issues are identified and resolved early in the design process to support smooth delivery on site. As a graduate in Interior Architecture, he also brings a designer’s sensibility to the refinement and development of detailed design solutions.

Andrew’s notable achievements include leading the £4M refurbishment of a redundant furniture warehouse for Worcester College of Technology in 2014. The transformation created new Creative Arts and Hair & Beauty teaching spaces alongside staff offices, and the project was shortlisted for an AJ Retrofit Award.

He also oversaw the £5.5M development at St Peter’s Hospice in Bristol, delivering a new 15‑bed In‑Patient Unit, a central café hub, expanded administration areas, and extensive new landscaping to create a cohesive, welcoming care environment.

More recently, Andrew contributed to the refurbishment of The Old Fire Station in Worcester, delivering 28 one‑, two‑, and three‑bedroom luxury apartments. The project involved a comprehensive transformation within the existing shell and roof structure, including the addition of a new penthouse apartment above. The scheme was recently recognised with a RIBA West Midlands Award.

Martyna joined KKE Architects in 2021, following her undergraduate First-Class Honours degree at the University of Liverpool and a traditional oak framing apprenticeship. Martyna rejoined KKE  after completing her Master’s degree in Architecture at Birmingham City University, which was awarded in July 2025.

During her time at KKE, Martyna contributed to several landmark projects, such as the Martlets Hospice in Brighton, and the Old Fire Station in Worcester which won the RIBA West Midlands Award 2025. Martyna is building on her “hands-on” experience for full qualification as an Architect. In addition to her extensive practical experience more recently Martyna has been sharpening her technical skills working on a new Entrance and Office for a large logistics company based in Warwickshire.

On the design side Martyna has been developing ideas and visuals for the early stage designs of new entrance and reception refurbishment for St Luke’s Hospice in Basildon. This will be a fast paced project expected to be finished within the year.

Jake joined KKE Architects in 2024, bringing fresh energy, creativity, and technical expertise to the team. A Green Book Medal Winner in 2023, Jake graduated with First Class Honours in Architecture (BA) from Birmingham City University, where he studied from September 2020 to July 2023.

Jake is proficient in a wide range of industry-standard software, including Revit, Vectorworks, Rhino 3D, Revizto, Adobe InDesign, V Ray, Lumion, AutoCAD, Photoshop, and SketchUp.  His strong digital skillset enhances both the design and delivery of architectural projects, allowing for efficient workflows and high-quality visual outputs.

In addition to his architectural role, Jake also serves as KKE’s in-house IT support, assisting the team with technical troubleshooting, software management, and digital systems optimisation. His dual expertise in architecture and technology makes him a versatile and valuable member of the practice.

Lucy joined KKE Architects in 2025 following the completion of her undergraduate Honours degree at Cardiff University. Since joining the practice, she has contributed to a range of projects, with a particular focus on interior coordination and detailing.

Her recent work includes involvement in the North London Hospice Refurbishment & Extension Project and a refurbishment for Hospice in the Weald. Alongside her interior architectural work, Lucy has also been developing her skills in 3D modelling and printing, broadening her technical capabilities within the team.

Sandra has been a dedicated member of the KKE team for over 15 years, providing expert bookkeeping support on a monthly basis. Her regular visits ensure our financial records are consistently accurate, up to date, and compliant with relevant standards. With a decade of experience in managing financial records and transactions, she plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our accounts.

Sandra’s precision, consistency, and deep understanding of our financial systems contribute significantly to the smooth operation of our business.

Meet Chica, our much-loved office dog and long-reigning queen of comfort (and a little chaos). Over the years she has traded some of the mischief for wisdom, but still excels at emotional support, stress relief, and supervising snack breaks.

Chica greets the team with gentle tail wags and keeps a watchful eye on every lunch. She brings warmth, calm, and plenty of smiles to the studio — and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

We’re excited to welcome Rocky, our newest team member, who has just joined us (part time)! Rocky is a cocker spaniel puppy and already bringing plenty of tail wags, cuddles, and joy to the KKE office.

As he learns the ropes, Rocky has taken on the very important role of boosting morale, encouraging walk breaks, and keeping spirits high. Whether he’s snoozing under a desk or greeting visitors with a wagging tail, he’s quickly becoming a beloved part of the team.
